This precision speed control system enhances your riding experience by allowing you to focus on the road ahead, minimising the need to constantly check your speedometer.
Functionality
The MotorCycle Cruise control works like a car cruise control, it applies and releases the throttle to maintain the current speed when the SET button is pressed, typically within less than +/- 2kph under normal circumstances.
The current SET speed can be stepped up or down using the SET/ACCLERATE or RESUME/DECELERATE buttons, the standard speed change per press is 2kph, this speed change can be changed by the user to 1kph, 2kph, 1mph and 2mph per press. Or you can press and HOLD the SET or RESUME buttons to gently increase or decrease the speed, and when the button is released, the current speed is adopted as the set speed.
The accelerate or decelerate functions of the SET and RESUME buttons can be changed by the user to SET/DECELERATE and RESUME/ACCELERATE if desired.
Cruise Stop Functions
Both front and rear brake will disengage the cruise control instantly.
On all manual shift bikes, slipping the clutch will disengage the cruise control when the engine rpm rises or falls about 500 to 1000 rpm (15% variation). This amount of allowed rpm variation is selectable by the user from 10% to 50% if the user wants to change the amount of rpm variation allowed. The 15% variation will usually allow one gear shift up or down without disengaging the cruise control, two shifts up or down will disengage the cruise control.
On most models pulling the clutch in all the way will disengage the cruise control. This does not apply to some older BMW and Harley Davidson cruise control models.
The ON-OFF (power) button is also a COAST button, pressing this button when the cruise control is engaged will disengage the cruise control without turning it off.
Control Switches
All our cruise control switches have backlight buttons for night use and an indicator light showing power on and cruise control engaged or disengaged states.
All adjustments and settings for the cruise control are performed using the control switch buttons. No special tools are required.

The Motorcycle Cruise Control unit is specifically designed for 2006 to 2013 models with YCCS Electric Shift transmission. 2006-2007 models are more difficult to control, but our new software offers much better control and requires a different setup in the software. Details about the various options are shown below. The brochure has photos and information about the various options available.

Throttle servo mounting location. The Throttle Servo is normally mounted on the left side of the bike, behind the passenger footrest mount.
YCCS Electric Shift Control Switch Options. On YCCS shift bike's the standard control switch is mounted above the bike's switch block on the right-side handlebar. This switch and mounting position makes it easy to reach the SET and RESUME buttons without have to release the twist grip.
It should be possible to mount the new slim switch on the right handlebar, but we have not had the opportunity to check if this is possible. The photo shows the slim switch mounted on the left handlebar on a manual shift bike. One significant issue with the slim switch on the right handlebar is the reach to the switch. It is preferable to hold the throttle position while pressing SET or RESUME to engage the cruise control, and it is a long reach from the twist grip to the slim switch assuming it is mounted between the brake lever mount and the bike's switch block. Pressing the button to engage the cruise control while maintaining throttle position will not be very easy.
Cruise Performance on different model years. Be aware on 2006-2007 model bikes, the cruise control will work down to about 30kph (~20mph), BUT the speed will wander a bit at low speeds due to the design of the throttle cable mechanism on the bike's throttle body. We had to soften the speed holding to stop the bike hunting. Above 50mph the cruise control holds speed well. This is specific to 2006-2007 model years, later bikes perform very well across the whole speed range.
Speed Signal Source. We have recently found a source for speed signal on this model on a wire in the bike's ECU, however we don't know if every version of the bike has this wire or has the same type of connector. We believe all models from 2003 to 2013 have this ECU and wire, but we don't know for sure. The brochure has details of how to check if your bike has this ECU connector and the speed signal wire. If it does, connecting the cruise control to the ECU speed signal wire is simple, no cutting of wires is involved and no special tools are required.

I’ve recently purchased the cruise control system for my FJR1300 AS model. The advice from MCC was superb. Their response to my queries was answered swiftly and professionally – their support pre-purchase was first class. This continued after purchase when I gave feedback on the installation. The installation was straightforward and the installation instructions were detailed and supported by lots of photo’s, which helped immensely. Overall, the installation took me two days, but I took my time and followed the instructions to the letter. Because I am not a mechanic, some of the work type was new to me – but be assured, the instructions and support are such that the installation can be done by a non-mechanic. If you can change spark plugs you can do this installation. On the road, the system is brilliant. I’ve just done my first tour using the Cruise Control and life was so much better. The switch is easily accessible and the whole system does its job very well. I’ve come from a Honda Goldwing with a manufacturers cruise already fitted, and this MC aftermarket system works as well as that manufacturers system. It’s clear that a lot of research and development has gone into the product. Overall, I have no hesitation in recommending this product and company to any FJR owner. You will not be disappointed.
