This precision speed control system enhances your riding experience by allowing you to focus on the road ahead, minimising the need to constantly check your speedometer.
Functionality
The MotorCycle Cruise control works like a car cruise control, it applies and releases the throttle to maintain the current speed when the SET button is pressed, typically within less than +/- 2kph under normal circumstances.
The current SET speed can be stepped up or down using the SET/ACCLERATE or RESUME/DECELERATE buttons, the standard speed change per press is 2kph, this speed change can be changed by the user to 1kph, 2kph, 1mph and 2mph per press. Or you can press and HOLD the SET or RESUME buttons to gently increase or decrease the speed, and when the button is released, the current speed is adopted as the set speed.
The accelerate or decelerate functions of the SET and RESUME buttons can be changed by the user to SET/DECELERATE and RESUME/ACCELERATE if desired.
Cruise Stop Functions
Both front and rear brake will disengage the cruise control instantly.
On all manual shift bikes, slipping the clutch will disengage the cruise control when the engine rpm rises or falls about 500 to 1000 rpm (15% variation). This amount of allowed rpm variation is selectable by the user from 10% to 50% if the user wants to change the amount of rpm variation allowed. The 15% variation will usually allow one gear shift up or down without disengaging the cruise control, two shifts up or down will disengage the cruise control.
On most models pulling the clutch in all the way will disengage the cruise control. This does not apply to some older BMW and Harley Davidson cruise control models.
The ON-OFF (power) button is also a COAST button, pressing this button when the cruise control is engaged will disengage the cruise control without turning it off.
Control Switches
All our cruise control switches have backlight buttons for night use and an indicator light showing power on and cruise control engaged or disengaged states.
All adjustments and settings for the cruise control are performed using the control switch buttons. No special tools are required.

Selecting your Cruise Control Switch
MCCruise offers 2 x Control Switch options to choose from. Simply select your preference when adding the product to your cart.
- Standard MCCruise switch: Fully featured, weatherproof, and backlit for night use.
- Slim MCCruise switch: A sleeker, no additional cost option, allowing installation inboard of the clutch lever mount.

This cruise control is for the new Euro 5 spec KTM690 and will connect to the Euro 5 OBDII diagnostic connector. Photos of the diagnostic connectors can be selected in the photos above. These connectors are under the seat, near the negative terminal of the battery. If your bike has the earlier diagnostic connector do NOT purchase this kit, order the 2019 Pre Euro 5 KTM690 Enduro cruise control kit. The cruise control kits are essentially identical in all other respects.
It appears that most markets moved to the Euro 5 connector in the 2021 model year, but we think that North America has stayed with the previous white ODBII connector.
Cruise control switch mounting bracket - the MCCruise bracket uses the bike's original mirror mount (EMAIL US if you have removed the mirrors), and there are four options to choose from (see photos):
- Slim MCCruise switch: Our new fully-featured and weatherproof switch is fitted between the bike's switch block and the clutch lever mount. Backlit buttons for night use, power (ON-OFF) indicator light and engage indicator light. The switch is 10mm (3/8") wide, so it may be necessary to slide the clutch lever assembly across to make space to mount the switch on the handlebar. Contact us for installation instructions if you wish to see how it is fitted.
- Our original control switch using an above bar switch mounting bracket - puts the switch above the handlebar.
- Our original control switch using a below bar mounting bracket - puts the switch below the handlebar. Check that there is at least 25mm (1") clearance in a straight line below the bike's switch gear when the handlebars are turned full left.
Long Range Fuel Tanks
Some owners fit a long range fuel tanks to their bike. We developed an alternative mounting location for the Husqvarna 701LR as the computer cannot be mounted in the usual location in some cases with a long range fuel tank. This mounting also fits the KTM690 and is available if required. Contact us for more information. Diagnostic Dongle for KTM motorcycles
Many KTM riders install CAN-BUS fuel or off-road dongles to the CAN-BUS diagnostic plug on their bikes. The MCCruise also taps into this plug, so to have two connections, a pass-through patch harness is required to support accessories downstream of the MCCruise connection. To facilitate this process, MCCruise makes a specific connector for KTM motorcycles.
If your bike has any sort of CAN-BUS dongle connected to the CAN-BUS diagnostic plug, please ensure when buying your new MCCruise you select the Dongle Connection Included button, rather than buying this accessory later. Buying at the same time as buying your cruise control minimizes shipping costs for customers.
Accessory/Aftermarket LED brake/tail lights and brake light modulators
Many KTM riders install a different LED tail light or complete fuel tank/tail section to their bikes. The cruise control works with the original KTM tail light, but we have found that in most cases we have to make a minor modification to the wiring harness if different tail light is fitted or is a brake light modulator is fitted. This modification is an LED Harness Modification and MUST be purchased with the cruise control if any other LED tail/brake light is fitted or is going to be fitted to the bike at a later time. FIM Compliant 'Rally' brake/tail light
We have some customers who fit an FIM Compliant LED brake/tail light to be able to participate in various 'Rally' events. This light is usually fitted in addition to the normal brake/tail light. This light will prevent the cruise control engaging because it interferes with the cruise control's brake detection. In order to make this work with the cruise control a blocking diode must be fitted to the brake light power wire to this light. Click here to see an example of this type of light. Taxes, Duties & Customs Fees
Sales Tax, VAT, GST, import duties, or customs clearance fees will apply when goods are shipped to most countries. The amount will depend on your local regulations. In most cases, our products attract no duty or only minimal duty rates, though sales taxes and customs fees can vary significantly between countries.
To our knowledge, only the USA currently applies tariffs to our products of 12.5%, plus a couple of dollars customs clearance fee. The shipping carrier will contact you directly to arrange payment of any applicable taxes or fees on behalf of your country’s customs authority once your order is in transit.
