Description
MCCruise BikeCruise Electronic Cruise Control for Harley-Davidson CANBUS FLS/FXS SOFTAIL Range (2011-2015)
Ride further and safer with the MCCruise electronic cruise control, designed specifically for the Harley-Davidson CANBUS FLS/FXS SOFTAIL Range (2011-2015)
This precision speed control system enhances your riding experience by allowing you to focus on the road ahead, minimising the need to constantly check your speedometer.
Functionality
The MotorCycle Cruise control works like a car cruise control, it applies and releases the throttle to maintain the current speed when the SET button is pressed, typically within less than +/- 2kph under normal circumstances.
The current SET speed can be stepped up or down using the SET/ACCLERATE or RESUME/DECELERATE buttons, the standard speed change per press is 2kph, this speed change can be changed by the user to 1kph, 2kph, 1mph and 2mph per press. Or you can press and HOLD the SET or RESUME buttons to gently increase or decrease the speed, and when the button is released, the current speed is adopted as the set speed.
The accelerate or decelerate functions of the SET and RESUME buttons can be changed by the user to SET/DECELERATE and RESUME/ACCELERATE if desired.
Cruise Stop Functions
Both front and rear brake will disengage the cruise control instantly.
On all manual shift bikes, slipping the clutch will disengage the cruise control when the engine rpm rises or falls about 500 to 1000 rpm (15% variation). This amount of allowed rpm variation is selectable by the user from 10% to 50% if the user wants to change the amount of rpm variation allowed. The 15% variation will usually allow one gear shift up or down without disengaging the cruise control, two shifts up or down will disengage the cruise control.
On most models pulling the clutch in all the way will disengage the cruise control. This does not apply to some older BMW and Harley Davidson cruise control models.
The ON-OFF (power) button is also a COAST button, pressing this button when the cruise control is engaged will disengage the cruise control without turning it off.
Control Switches
All our cruise control switches have backlight buttons for night use and an indicator light showing power on and cruise control engaged or disengaged states.
All adjustments and settings for the cruise control are performed using the control switch buttons. No special tools are required.

The cruise control connects to the bike's throttle using the cruise control fittings that are part of the throttle body. These fittings are there for use on other HD models that have factory cruise control. Our cruise control uses these fitting on the throttle body. If your bike has been modified check that these fittings are still there. See the brochure in the Brochure and Installation Manuals tab for details and a photo of the fitting on the throttle body.

Images and PDFs supplied relate to our after-market MCCruise kit for the Harley-Davidson FLS & FXS Softail 2011 to 2015. The same cruise control kit with a slightly different wiring harness can be supplied for earlier Pre-CANBUS models back to 2007.
The following information is required to assist us in delivering the perfect kit for your bike:
There are FIVE key differences between Harley-Davidson motorcycles which are important from the cruise control perspective:
1. In order to identify if your bike has CAN-BUS or not check the wire colours on the rear brake light switch. See the photos above to assist with identifying the rear brake light switch.
- The wires to the foot (rear) brake switch on Pre-CAN-BUS models are orange/white (orange with a white trace) and red/yellow. The EARLY types do not have CANBUS & BODY CONTROL MODULE, only an ENGINE CONTROL MODULE.
- The wires to the foot brake switch on later bikes with CAN-BUS wiring harnesses are black and blue/green (blue with a green trace). These LATER types HAVE CANBUS & AN ENGINE CONTROL MODULE & A BODY CONTROL MODULE)
- This cruise control kit is for CAN-BUS models. A different cruise control kit is requited for the Pre-CAN-BUS models.
2. If your bike model year is around 2010 to 2012 check what type of ECM (Engine Control Module) your bike has. There are two types, and usually the pre-CANBUS have one type and CANBUS models another, but we recently found an exceptions where a CANBUS model still had the older type ECM. The ECM is mounted on the rear mudguard (fender), under the seat. Compare yours to the photos above. The earlier type CANBUS has a single large grey connector. The later CANBUS models usually have two smaller black and grey connectors. If your bike has the early CANBUS ECM, tell us and we will supply the appropriate parts.
3. We need to know the switch wire length required. This HD FX & FL Control Switch Wire Length document provides all the information needed for you to tell us what we need to know about the length of cruise control switch wires to supply in the kit for your bike. We also need to know whether the switch wires will be run INSIDE the handlebars (1" bars or bigger, only) or OUTSIDE the handlebars.
4. Please select above the cart button whether your bike has engine crash bars. You can see this becomes important because the cruise computer mounts on the frame on the same bolt that is used for engine bars. See the Brochure for details on computer mounting with and without engine bars. See MCCruise review in Heavy Duty Magazine for more information. Please note that the spliced wiring connections and the speed sensor shown in this article are no longer required, all electrical connections are 'plug in' with no cutting of wires required, and the speed sensor is no longer used.
5. Please specify the year and model of your bike when ordering - in the comments section of the Cart.
